Evolution never stops, and change is inevitable. Totalitarians exhibit no reluctance in perpetrating atrocities to obtain or maintain power and capital. By imposing their faulty ideologies and hindering gradual reformations, they create situations appropriate for inequality and corruption to thrive. The longer and broader this repression is, the more likely it is to result in an outburst of rage as a way out. Provoking violence may not be our intention or heart’s desire, but insisting on ignorance, hatred, and fear of reformation ultimately leads to a crisis, which is then followed by violent behaviours. We’re currently facing major challenges, namely, implementing human rights and achieving sustainable development. If we wish to overcome these challenges, we need to reach a common understanding that prompts us to work with, not against, each other. Since our world is growing more complex by the minute, it would be irresponsible and ruinous to assume one outlook to be true and turn a blind eye to other outlooks. Only if we consider different outlooks peacefully can we discern the right approach and build a future where every human being can experience a fulfilling coexistence with others and the environment. Peace is not our destination, but rather a necessity in our journey to realise our hopes and dreams.
Peace persists as long as awareness and love prevail over ignorance and hatred. This condition is difficult to attain and very fragile. Therefore, we should never take peace for granted or neglect the great effort needed for its preservation. Opinionated individuals constantly seek to expand their influence over zealot communities by committing crimes such as depriving children of proper education, restricting public access to information and communication, distorting the truth and propagating disinformation, disparaging critics and brutally suppressing the opposition, and spreading hatred and discrimination against minorities. Zealots are easily misled by their senseless ideologies and false promises, as ignorance has tainted their judgements and hatred has possessed their feelings. Thus, without realising it, they enslave themselves and let opinionated individuals, who put their own interests above all and have no respect for morality or humanity whatsoever, abuse them. Setting our prejudices aside allows us to notice that, despite our diversity, we are all going through analogous hardships, and our lives are much more similar than we would think. We are not enemies. Those who incite violence amongst us are our enemies. We must be cautious not to let blind zeal replace our innate empathy for each other.
The only way to eliminate this type of slavery is through spreading awareness and love. To avert violent behaviours, we all need to comply with gradual reformations. Awareness and love enable us to let go of our prejudices and change our shabby beliefs for the better. The fear of altering what we are accustomed to is just absurd, since structures built upon flawed ideologies will eventually collapse, no matter what. If we learn to constantly revise our beliefs, we will alleviate the societal cost of reformations considerably. We should also keep in mind that journalists, artists, and writers play a crucial role in the process of these reformations. By scrutinising issues from different aspects and reflecting them in various media, they raise attention and awareness, break taboos, and spark dialogue and questioning. Whether we approve or disapprove of their viewpoints, we must condemn any threat or suppression against them and protect them. We must not tolerate any form of violation of freedom of expression to prevent the emergence of totalitarian systems. Lest we forget, our silence and indifference are just as devastating as the crimes committed by opinionated individuals and will contribute towards the violence that someday impacts us all. Achieving peace requires empathy and cooperation from each one of us.

تکامل هیچ‌گاه متوقف نمی‌شود و تغییر اجتناب ناپذیر است. گروه‌های تمامیت‌خواه برای بدست آوردن یا حفظ قدرت و ثروت، در انجام هیچ قساوتی تردید نمی‌کنند. آن‌ها با تحمیل کردن عقاید اشتباه خود و جلوگیری از اصلاح تدریجی، موجب رشد فزاینده نابرابری و فساد می‌شوند. هر چه این سرکوب طولانی‌تر و گسترده‌تر باشد، احتمال انفجار خشم برای برون‌رفت از آن نیز بیشتر خواهد بود. خشونت ممکن است خواست قلبی هیچ‌یک از ما نباشد، ولی اصرار بر جهالت، نفرت و ترس از تغییر، باعث پیدایش بحران و به دنبال آن بروز خشونت می‌شود. در حال حاضر، اجرای کامل حقوق بشر و رسیدن به توسعه پایدار از مهم‌ترین چالش‌های پیش روی ما است. ما برای غلبه بر این چالش‌ها، نیازمند رسیدن به فهمی مشترک برای همکاری با یکدیگر هستیم. در دنیای امروز که لحظه به لحظه پیچیده‌تر می‌شود، پذیرفتن یک دیدگاه و چشم بستن روی دیدگاه‌های دیگر، غیر مسئولانه و فاجعه‌بار است. ما تنها با استفاده از دیدگاه یکدیگر و از طریق صلح می‌توانیم بهترین راهکار را پیدا کرده، و آینده‌ای را بسازیم که تمامی انسان‌ها در کنار یکدیگر و با طبیعت به همزیستی رضایت‌مندانه رسیده باشند. پس می‌توان گفت که صلح هدف نهایی ما نیست، بلکه فرآیندی است که برای تحقق اهداف و آرزوهایمان به آن نیازمندیم
صلح هنگامی پدید می‌آید که آگاهی و عشق بر جهالت و نفرت برتری داشته باشد. این برتری به سختی بدست می‌آید و بسیار شکننده است؛ پس هرگز نباید صلح را بدیهی بپنداریم یا از تلاش فراوانی که برای تداوم آن لازم است، غافل شویم. افراد مستبد همواره با انجام جنایت‌هایی چون محدود کردن امکان تحصیل کودکان، مسدود کردن دسترسی عمومی به اطلاعات و ارتباطات، تحریف حقایق و تبلیغات کذب، سرکوب وحشیانه و بی‌رحمانه منتقدان و مخالفان و نفرت‌پراکنی و تبعیض علیه اقلیت‌ها، به دنبال افزایش نفوذ خود با سواستفاده از گروه‌های متعصب هستند. افراد متعصب از آن‌جایی که جهالت فکرشان و نفرت روحشان را تسخیر کرده است، به سادگی فریب ایدئولوژی بی‌اساس و وعده‌های دروغین آن‌ها را می‌خوردند. آن‌ها بی‌آنکه متوجه باشند، خود را برده و بازیچه مستبدانی قرار می‌دهند که تنها به فکر منافع خود هستند و کوچک‌ترین ارزشی برای اخلاقیت و انسانیت قائل نیستند. ما اگر بتوانیم پیش‌قضاوتی را کنار بگذاریم، خواهیم دید که با وجود تمامی تفاوت‌هایمان، از مشکلات مشترکی رنج می‌بریم و بیشتر از آنچه فکر می‌کنیم به یکدیگر شباهت داریم. ما دشمنان یکدیگر نیستیم، بلکه دشمنان ما کسانی هستند که ما را دعوت به دشمنی با یکدیگر می‌کنند. پس باید هوشیار باشیم تا اجازه ندهیم تعصبات کورکورانه، جایگزین همدلی ذاتی میان ما شود
تنها راه نجات یافتن از این اسارت، گسترش آگاهی و عشق است. ما برای جلوگیری از خشونت، لازم است که همگی با تکامل تدریجی همراه باشیم. آگاهی و عشق به ما کمک می‌کند تا تعصب را کنار بگذاریم و از اصلاح عقاید فرسوده خود نترسیم. ترس از تخریب آنچه به آن عادت کرده‌ایم تنها یک فریب است؛ چرا که هر چه بر پایه عقاید پوسیده ساخته شده باشد دیر یا زود فرو خواهد ریخت. اگر بیاموزیم که مرتبا به بررسی و اصلاح عقاید خود بپردازیم، بهای اجتماعی کمتری برای آن خواهیم پرداخت. همچنین باید بدانیم که خبرنگاران، هنرمندان و نویسندگان نقش بسیار مهمی در روند این اصلاحات ایفا می‌کنند. آن‌ها با ارزیابی موضوعات از دیدگاه‌های متفاوت و بازتاب دادن آن به شیوه‌های گوناگون، موجب افزایش توجه و آگاهی، شکسته شدن تابوها و ایجاد گفت‌وگو و پرسشگری میان ما می‌شوند. از این رو، جدای از موافقت یا مخالفت با نظراتشان، وظیفه داریم هرگونه تهدید و سرکوب علیه آن‌ها و آزادی بیان را محکوم کنیم تا از بوجود آمدن جریان‌های تمامیت‌خواه و تندرو جلوگیری کنیم. یادمان نرود که با سکوت کردن و بی‌تفاوت ماندن در برابر جنایت‌های افراد مستبد، در پدیدآوردن خشونتی که روزی زندگی تمامی ما را به نابودی می‌کشاند سهیم خواهیم بود. تداوم صلح، نیازمند همدلی و همکاری هر یک از ما است
